Know the Backgammon Board

Backgammon is a board game, a member of the family of board games. Backgammon is usually played by two players, while the goal of each one of them is to remove all of their checkers from the board. The first player to remove all his checkers wins the game.

Backgammon is a game of skill that includes several variants:

Acey-deucey A variant of Backgammon in which the players begin with no checkers on the board and must bear them on at the beginning of the game. The roll of 1-2 in Acey-deucey allows the player to select doubles of his own choice. In addition, after the roll of 1-2 or of doubles, the player is awarded an additional turn.

Hypergammon A variant of Backgammon in which each player has only three checkers on the board, starting with one each on the 24-, 23- and 22-points. In this variant of Backgammon, luck plays a much larger role than in the regular Backgammon variant.

LongGammon This Backgammon variant is similar to the standard Backgammon variant, except for the starting position in which all of the player 15 checkers start on the opponent's one-point.

Backgammon board set up The Backgammon board consists of 24 triangles divided to four groups of six - 2 of them are the home board and outer board of one player, and the other 2 are the home board and outer board of the second player. Each player has 15 checkers of his own color.

Backgammon Points The points are numbered for each one of the players starting in the player's home board. The outermost point is the 24 point, which is also the opponent's 1 point.

Backgammon Checkers Arrangement The checkers arrangement is made on the player's 24, 13, 8 and 6 points: two on each player's 24 point, five on each player's 13 point, three on each player's 8 point and five on each player's 6 point.

Backgammon Objective The objective of Backgammon is to bring all your checkers, white or black, into your own home board so that you can begin to remove them from the board (the bear-off game phase). The winner of the game is the first player to bear off all of his checkers.
