Tips for Tournaments

A lot of people from all over the world use their mind and they have fun while competing in tournaments and in one-to-one Backgammon games.

Online Gambling Backgammon Glass

Nowadays you may find a lot of Backgammon tournaments on the Internet. There are spontaneous or previously planned tournaments. If you want to take part in a spontaneous tournament, you have to check if there are any players registered on the site.

In order to be registered, all you have to do is to click an "Enter" button, next to the main list of players. When you want to take part in a planned tournament, you and the other players must agree upon a starting moment (month, day, time). It is a good thing if there are many Backgammon players registered, because the prizes won by them are important, as they are paid using the money gathered out of the entering charge. You may check from time to time the main list, in order to see when the tournament begins.

One Backgammon site offers a special kind of tournament called "Swing". A "Swing" Backgammon tournament is a competition during which all the players start with the same number of pieces and they go on playing until there remains only one player who gathered all the pieces. As long as a player has pieces, he keeps taking part in the tournament. The players will occupy their places at random. Each player will start with an initial stake (pieces per point).

At the beginning of a game, if one of the players has fewer pieces than it was established, the initial stake must be made of all his pieces, which means that the player uses all his pieces. The piece per point will be taken regularly during the tournament, but not during a simple game. The position of the player will be established at the end of each game, so then he will know if he has chances to win the tournament.

Pieces per point mean the number of pieces corresponding to each point during the game. This value doesn't change during the game. If you won a normal game and if the pieces per point had a value of one hundred and the doubling dice were on two, you will win two hundred pieces. The rules of the game are applied on the Backgammon game, multiplied by three.

All of these Backgammon tournaments have fairly short Backgammon matches, usually 3 points, getting as long as 5 or 7 in later rounds. This makes the luck factor very significant, and obviously will bring more of the gambling aspect to these tournaments, when you have to pay an entry fee to a tournament, and relay more on luck rather than skill to win. Because online Backgammon tournaments have invaded the web, you must choose the most appropriate one for you.
